House on a Hill is a highly crafted multigenerational country residence on Victoria’s Mornington Peninsula. Organised as a series of interlinked pavilions around sheltered courtyards, the home is defined by its curved forms, complex geometry and highly considered material palette.

At the centre of the residence is a sculptural concrete dome, formed using a custom inflatable membrane and erected on site. Reinforcement was shaped and suspended by hand to follow the curved form, before being built up through layers of sprayed concrete. The unconventional construction method required extensive prototyping, precise set-out and meticulous sequencing to translate a highly complex design into a buildable structure.
